LCSS Associate Director Races to Alaska

John Wiessert and his team are currently racing their Contour 30 Trimaran "Harbinger" from Port Townsend, WA to Ketchikan, Alaska.

An epic journey that started with an idea last July, John went so far as to build a tent made out of PVC pipe, tarps, and bales of hay in his backyard to refit the boat over the winter.

From their website: Harbinger is more than a boat. It is a part of a dream to pursue new challenges and explore the limitless potential of life and natural beauty of our planet. The journey began in ernest December of 2016 when a 30' trimaran drove across the country to Minneapolis Minnesota. It has been undergoing an extensive refit in preparation for the R2AK, a non-motorized race from Port Townsend, Washington to Ketchikan, Alaska.
