High School Sailing is booming in the Twin Cities! Use your brain and your brawn in this dynamic and engaging coed sport. Students in grades 7-12 represent their school and join a passionate group of sailors around the Metro Area. Students practice at the Minneapolis Sailing Center on Bde Maka Ska three nights a week after school and race in regattas on the weekend.

No experience is necessary. Sailors can sign up individually or gather a team from your school. Minneapolis Sailing Center provides boats and coaching. Click here for a list of High Schools currently sailing with MSC.

Regattas are held on Bde Maka Ska, Lake Minnetonka, St. Croix River, and White Bear Lake. As you improve, Varsity sailors can compete in regional and national regattas nationwide.

Sailing is both a spring and fall sport. As soon as the ice is off the lake, we suit up and hit the water. Once summer ends, we will keep on sailing until the snowflakes fly. Unlike any other sport, sailors use strategy, tactics, physical prowess, teamwork, self-reliance, brainpower, bravery, and sheer willpower to guide their wind-powered boats across the water to victory.
