Members with an active membership and the appropriate wind rating may reserve boats. If you are sailing an Ensign, reserving a sailboat is encouraged. There are plenty of 420s and Lasers, so a reservation is not needed. Ensigns are rarely all checked out during the day on weekdays (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM), but may all be in use on evenings & weekends. All Ensigns are reservable. If a reserved boat becomes available due to a no-show or a member ending their sail early, it will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until the next reservation. If you have questions about reservations for a specific day, give the boathouse a call at (612-822-8328). Reservations are made through our Member Portal on the Equipment Reservation Calendar.

Reservation rules

  1. Boats may be reserved during open sailing hours - Monday-Sunday, 10am-Sunset. Reservations made outside of these times are not valid.

  2. The maximum reservation time is 2 hours.

  3. Members may make only one reservation at a time. Please remember to cancel your reservations if you do not intend to use them.

  4. Unless you call or notify MSC that you will be late, your reservation will be canceled if you are more than 15 minutes late.

  5. Reservations must be made at least 1 hour before the start time.
