PARENT AND CHILD OPTIS
Parents, this is your chance to learn to sail with your young child, aged 4-6. This class provides an opportunity for parents and children to experience sailing together for the first time in the small, fun Optimist Pram sailboats. An MSC instructor guides students as they learn basic sailing skills and gain confidence on the water. There’s fun on shore with games, stories, songs, and more!
The fee covers both parent and child. Only the child needs to be registered.
Note: The Optimist is a small boat that requires bending down/crouching, stepping in and out, and getting your feet wet. In this class, you will be in a boat alone with your child. If you prefer a more comfortable sailing experience with an instructor on board, check out the Family Sailing Class.
FAMILY KEELBOAT CLASS
The Family Keelboat Class is designed to teach sailing to the whole family, ages four and up, in a comfortable and stable Ensign Keelboat. This class offers the entire family the opportunity to experience sailing together for the first time.
No prior knowledge is required of family members, as they learn to sail with an instructor on Ensign sailboats. The majority of the course is spent on the water, teaching basic sailing concepts and helping students become comfortable in the boat.
