YOUTH 420 RACE TEAM

WHO’S ON THE 420 RACE TEAM?
Sailors on the 420 Race Team have taken 420 Cruisers or an equivalent class and are eager to learn and develop their racing skills.

The class focuses on advanced boat handling, sail trim, tactics, and strategy with hands-on coaching.

Students are encouraged to participate in the TCYS Regatta Series held most  Fridays during the summer. Coaching is provided for these regattas, but entry fees ($10-$25) are not included in the class registration. Students can still attend TCYS events even if they are not registered for that specific week of sailing camp. An email will be sent out at the start of summer with a regatta sign-up sheet to coordinate these events.

WHAT’S NEXT?
Many sailors on the 420 Race Team go on to join the Spring and Fall High School Sailing Teams. High School sailing is for grades 6-12.
