women’s beginning keelboat
SCHEDULE: Mon and Thur 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM or 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

This beginning sailing class provides an introduction to Ensign keelboats in an inclusive environment for womxn (cis, trans, and other female-identifying people) and non-binary people. Instruction is provided by women.
Ensigns are 23 feet long, weigh over 3,000 pounds, and have a full keel that provides a safe, stable ride. 3-4 sailors will be paired up in each boat.
Participants will learn sailing basics including terminology, rigging, boat parts, maneuvering, points of sail, and rules of the road. No prior sailing experience is required. Students will receive the US Sailing textbook "Basic Keelboat" to help reinforce concepts taught in class.
Womxn ages 12 and up are welcome to register for the class along with a parent or guardian.
If a session is missed due to weather or other precipitating events, the session will be rescheduled 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM the Saturday following each two-week class.
*Make-up class held on the second Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM if necessary
