420 cruisers

Two-week sessions are Monday-Thursday

DURATION: There is a mix of one-week and two-week sessions throughout the summer. See the schedule below for the dates of each.

WHO ARE CRUISERS?  
420 Cruisers are sailors who have mastered the 420 Explorer skills and want to grow their skills in a non-competitive and low-pressure environment.

MORE SPECIFICS:
Sailors will spend the session focusing on sailing adventures, cruising Bde Maka Ska, and playing games that build confidence. Activities include the Bde Maka Ska beach cruise, learning how to raft up on sunny calm days, and classic MSC games like Sail Cross. 

Classes include brief lessons and demonstrations on land followed by on-the-water adventures and games. Coaches follow their classes in safety boats, ensuring sailors’ safety and helping them improve. 

Getting out on the water each day of the session is not guaranteed. On days when the wind is too high to be on the water safely, we play games and learn on shore.

Each week offers new and exciting adventures and activities to help students learn new skills and reinforce the ones already known. Enrolling in more than one session is encouraged! 

WHAT’S NEXT?
After checking off their Cruiser skills, sailors who are interested in racing can move on to 420 Intro to Racing. Sailors not interested in racing can just keep on cruising.
